Sorry to everyone for the lateness of the post! Here's the latest and greatest on the DesignBuildBluff project! As you can tell from the pictures, we've begun to roof! Thanks to an amazing donation of roofing materials from Big D Construction, we've been able to put in our large array of T.J.I's, as well as some very sweet looking glu-lam beams and columns. Sweet sweetness. By the time most of us left on Saturday, we had nearly half of the T.J.I.'s installed, as well as all of the columns and half of the beams. We're moving right along!

Beautiful column connection detail. Matt and Hunter were amazing at putting the columns up!
This strapping is what keeps our adobe walls tied to the framed walls. Basically, it's keeping our house standing up. That, and a lot of prayers, love, and hope. ;)
Hunter and Matt work their magic with the columns.
Eric plays "Whack-A-Mole" with Talvy on the roof.
Gorgeous.
Team trombe wall: Lindsay and Ryan.
Eric struts his stuff on the roof.
Trombe wall dust flies out of the saw.
Hank inspects the roof.
Me! On the roof! No hands!
C.B. takes a breather on top of the adobe walls.
Monica and mortar make a good mix.
Roughing it!
Camille is so brave!
Baxter gets some exercise!
Fun and games on the roof!

maybe it's a coincidence, but i enjoyed the Little Miss Sunshine reference (if only Olive's dad was referring to glulam beams and columns)!
so, i'm the random person from Kayenta, AZ that's been meaning to come by and visit the site. I've had some phone tag with Hank, and a conversation with someone at the Scorup house but haven't made it by yet to check out the project. I can see from the blog that it really is coming along. I better get on it. When will everyone be back on site? I'd love to come by next week if you'll be there.
