After a week of work, it's time for a day off! Sunday brought a trip to Hovenweep National Monument. We marveled over the architecture of the ancient Puebloans. Back in Bluff, we dined at Bill's house (Bill is the archaeologist we've been working with during the project). Bill makes a mean chili verde. He entertained us with his stories and show-and-tell of his stuff, ranging from the bloody stump of a porcupine tail to an "official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time", just like in the movie, A Christmas Story. At the end of the night, we all sang a glorious rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Chris Brown, our newest 24-year-old! Birthday cake for everyone!
